Donnerstag, 13.07.2023: The puzzle of strange equilibration dynamics and an attempt to deal with it

The dynamics of some quantum expectation value is determined by the respective observable, the Hamiltonian and the initial state. We present numerical examples featuring artificial but valid observables and Hamiltonians, for which almost all initial states yield rather unusual dynamics. This behavior cannot be ruled out by means of typicality, eigenstate thermalization hypothesis, etc.
