Montag, 24.06.2024: Rationality Problems
Prof. Dr. Yuri Tschinkel (Courant Institute, New York)
I will discuss several aspects of rationality, in algebraic geometry over nonclosed fields, and in presence of actions of finite groups. New obstructions based on ideas of motivic integration, which in turn go back to work of V. Batyrev and M. Kontsevich, allowed to settle several classical problems. I will explain these connections.

Donnerstag, 27.06.2024: Scalar curvature comparison geometry

We present several new rigidity and stability results for scalar curvature. In particular, we solve Gromov's spherical stability problem and show that initial data sets with vanishing mass embed into pp-wave spacetimes. This talk is based upon joint work with Yiyue Zhang.
