Lieb-Robinson Bounds and Propagation Speed in Lattice Systems
Carla Rubiliani
In spin systems there exists an upper bound on the speed of information propagation through the lattice, this gives rise to an effective light cone similar to the one in special relativity. These so called Lieb-Robinson-bounds, first demonstrated in 1972, have proved to be very powerful tools in quantum information theory, condensed matter and high-energy physics. Recently they have been greatly extended to different settings, but there are still many open problems. In this talk we will show some applications and see what are the main assumptions that mathematicians have tried to relax in recent years. I will also talk briefly about some recent work and my project.
