Advanced Topics in Mathematical Quantum Theory
This course is a continuation of
It is an elective course within the
Master Program in Mathematical Physics
Students enrolled in the regular mathematics or physics programs in Tübingen are also welcome!
Course goals.
This course develops the fundamentals of quantum many-body physics from different angles. The main topics are: (i) semiclassical analysis of free fermions and (ii) phase transitions in quantum spin systems. These topics are chosen to present highlights of mathematical physics and to prepare students for conducting their own research in the active areas of spectral theory and quantum lattice systems.
This is a mathematics course motivated by interesting physical problems. All statements will be proved rigorously.
Logistics.
(1) The course materials will be provided via ILIAS.
This includes a detailed syllabus with all relevant course information (course outline, homework and exam policy, literature recommendations, etc.)
The course password is "amqt2022".
(2) The registration for exercise sessions and exams is handled via URM. Please us this link:
