Mathematical Aspects of the Quantum Hall Effect
The course is focused on the description of mathematical models for the quantum Hall effect. In particular, the course will cover the following topics: review of the classical Hall effect and historical introduction on the quantum Hall effect, analysis of the Landau Hamiltonian and of the geometry of the Landau levels, linear response theory and derivation of the Kubo formula, Wannier functions and their relations to the Hall conductivity, magnetic perturbations and Streda formula.
Due to the Covid19 situation the course will be held online via Zoom. There will be one lecture per week each Wednesday from 14:15 to 16:00 . The first informative meeting will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, April 21, at 14:15. The information to access the Zoom meeting are provided by message on ILIAS to the registered participants.
Further information about the course will appear on ILIAS at due time.
