Donnerstag, 11.04.2019: Rigorous proof of existence and uniqueness of dynamics for a multi-time QFT model

Sascha Lill (Tübingen)

In order to describe a quantum N-body system in the Schrödinger picture in a manifestly covariant way, one needs to introduce a separate time coordinate t_k for each of the particles k ? {1, ..., N}. The wave function therefore depends on N time coordinates (“multi-time wave function”), and the Schrödinger equation becomes a system of N PDEs. In my master thesis, I could establish the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the multi-time Schrödinger equations for a Quantum Field Theory (QFT) toy model. This talk will concern how to construct a solution to the equations and to show that it is a solution.

Freitag, 12.04.2019: Two Dirac Particles Interacting Directly

Markus Nöth (LMU München)

We will construct the unique solution to a multi-time integral equation for two Dirac particles interacting directly in 1+3 dimensions. As temporal restrictions on this talk will not allow for complete rigor, we will rather focus on the main ideas of the construction and potentials sources of trouble.
