Mittwoch, 30.04.2025: Towards an A^1-mirror symmetry
Chongyao Chen (Duke University)
This talk will be divided into two parts. In the first part, we review the story of local mirror symmetry and introduce the role of a combinatorial object known as the nilpotent cone. We explain how it arises in the study of period maps and Torelli-type problems, and how it offers insight into global mirror symmetry. In the second part, we turn to A^1-enumerative geometry. We introduce the notion of A^1-binomial coefficients, explain how they could arise in A^1-Gromov-Witten theory, and discuss their role in our ongoing project on A^1-mirror symmetry.
