Montag, 12.08.2024: Calculating Wigner 6j-symbols for SU(N)

Wigner 6j-symbols are frequently encountered in the decomposition of complex color structures in Quantum Chromodynamics. Although formulae for calculating Wigner 6j-symbols have been found several years ago, recent papers provided formulae for a direct computation without intermediary steps. This thesis improves on the findings of these recent papers by discussing the arguments provided there in more detail and improving on insufficient argumentation. In addition, there are some small mistakes in these papers that are fixed in this thesis. The formulae for the calculation of Wigner 6-symbols provided by the papers are implemented in code in order to enable comparison with previous implementations that use different formulae with intermediate steps. Finally, an overview of the different problems one needs to solve in order to generalize the findings for any N is given.
