Toric geometry
The class will be held in english. Of course, questions can be asked in German, and one teacher knows German well, so this is not an obstruction for any German speaking student.
If you have questions about the class, please contact Matilde Manzaroli or Hannah Markwig.
The class is an online class.
Please register at urm:
https://urm.math.uni-tuebingen.de
We will have (synchron) zoom-meetings Monday 14:15-15:45 and Thursday 8:30-10. The zoom-links have been emailed via urm.
We follow the book by Cox, Little, Schenck.
Here is a plan which part shall be covered in which class.
In the first class, we will dicuss details about the format of the online-class.
There will be weekly exercise classes Friday 12:30-14, also via zoom. Details about the exercise classes will be discussed in the first zoom-meeting. You can hand in exercises via urm in groups up to three students. The teacher for the exercise classes is an international Postdoc, so please hand in your solutions in english. The exercise classes start in the second week of term, April 30.
The first homework is due on May 2.
Homework 2: Please solve Exercises 1.1.2, 1.1.5 and 1.1.12 from the book. Hand in the solution until May 9 via urm.

The latter can be confirmed e.g. by a Computeralgebrasystem such as Singular. Hand in the solutions until May 30 via urm.
Homework 5: Please solve Exercises 1.3.2, 1.3.5 and 1.3.14 from the book. Hand in the solutions until June 6 via urm.
